Benjamin Segal, MD, Andrew Jerome, PhD and Andrew Sas, MD, PhD, led a recent study that found a novel type of immune cell discovered in human bone marrow can grow healthy nerve cells when stimulated in the lab. The hope is their research will lead to effective treatments for a wide range of currently incurable injuries and diseases that affect the central nervous system.
