Scientists at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center discovered a new type of immune cell that they were able to stimulate in the lab to regrow damaged nerve fibers. This advancement may lead to effective treatments for a wide range of conditions, from spinal cord injuries and stroke to ALS, multiple sclerosis and Alzheimer’s disease.
