Designed in collaboration with families and children with sight loss, UK based charity Guide Dogs recently announced the launch of the UK’s first-ever inclusive Christmas grotto for children with a vision impairment.
The inclusive event aims to create a truly magical and immersive festive experience for all families to enjoy, including the Head Elf’s toy workshop where children will be able to touch and smell different gifts and discover what they will eventually become, a cookie decorating station, and a sensory story time.
In related news, Santas and Elves across the UK will be trained to make Christmas more inclusive for children with sight loss, including engaging in all senses and clearing their grottos of clutter.
